Just an update. I’ve been struggling on little sleep for the past few days. Little kids can do that, keep you up most of the night, that is.Â
But I’m maintaining my goal of 5 pages rewritten each day. Today I plan to add 5 more. Slowly but surely this novel will be completed. I’m just taking it one day at a time and not looking too far ahead. I think if I looked at the big picture now I’d get scared and run away.
So for now, I’m plugging away at it. I’ll keep you all posted on my progress!Â

Okay so when you find that you have absolutely no free time, how do you find the time to follow your dream?
Make time. It’s possilbe. It’s not easy. But with some heavy organization you can make it happen.
So here is my strategy for saving snipits of time here and there so I can find more time to write.
Planner Pages, like Franklin Planner. Learn how to use these effectively and you have a huge helper in the Get Organized and Save Time plan.
Menu Planning- Plan out the month’s dinner menu for each day. This should help with making grocery lists each week as well as curbing the hour that is spent pondering “what do I have?” and “what should I make?” each night.
Prioritize – what is important for you. Spending quality time with your kids, keeping the house clean, keeping in contact with friends and family. Make time for each, calculate how much time you’ll spend one each and put it in your planner. Here’s the catch, FOLLOW IT!
I really need to make time to get my website done. I schedule time to work on it every other day. Today was the day to NOT work on it, but to work on my book revisions. But the revisions got difficult and I opened the web docs… that’s a no no. Buckle down, suck it up and do what must get done WHEN it must get done. Leave the arch nemisis Procrastination at the door.
I have to admit I continue to procrastinate, even little things. But I know I have this issue and I’m working on it. Pushing myself out of my comfort zone to get stuff accomplished. And you know what? At the end of the day when I look at all those check marks I feel pretty darn good about myself. Not to mention I’ve learned to delegate my time more wisely. I’m following my dream one step at a time!
